Summer and Autumn Events 2011

The first event of our summer was the return visit 1st Troon Company, Boy's Brigade on 7th August for their Summer Camp. They had been in Jersey 3 years previously.

The following week, a presentation was given to Mr Walter Callander and Mr George Thain in recognition of each having completed 50 years of service as Church Elders; most of which was here in Jersey.

Our Harvest Festival Service took place on Sunday 9th of October, the day after the marriage of our Session Clerk's son, so the white flowers of the wedding intermingled with the flowers of Autumn.

The following Saturday, we had our Harvest Festival Supper where 48 members of the congregation and friends had a delicious meal of mince pie, trifles and tea/coffee with shortbread biscuits. Many thanks to all who helped in providing the food and arranging the Church Hall.

After the meal there was a quiz and entertainers to keep us happy. Gregor Allan played the Northumbrian Pipes, Rena Menzies gave a recitation and Michael Owen sang some Scottish songs.
